On April 5, Associate Partner Tyler Swanson attended the Flooding and Storm Surge Symposium hosted by Houston City Council Members and the AIA Houston Urban Design Committee. Phil Bedient, Director of the Rice University SSPEED Center, discussed the Houston-Galveston Area Protection System (H-GAPS), envisioned as a cost-effective system that will protect both the vital industrial infrastructure of the Houston Ship Channel and the communities that line the western shore of Galveston Bay.
The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies have awarded The New St. Pete Pier with an American Award for Architecture, in the Urban Planning/Landscape Architecture category.
