Kicking off the first presentation in the Rice University SSPEED Center update series, Rob joins professors and other industry professionals to discuss state-of-the-art technology addressing coastal defenses being suggested and planned for the Houston region.
Today he and Charlie Penland (Walter P Moore) will speak to the construction, coastal defenses, and overall concept and amenities of the Galveston Bay Park Plan.
The St. Pete Pier was decorated with top honors at the annual AIA Tampa Bay "Celebrate Design" award ceremony. The pier was recognized for its progressive approach to landscape design and sustainability, and as an example of design's capacity to "galvanize the fabric of a community in a strong, social, and equitable way."
Associate Partner Elizabeth Stoel will discuss the Madison Square Boys & Girls Club Pinkerton Clubhouse with the Municipal Art Society of New York via an online forum on the evening of October 5th. The Pinkerton Clubhouse was named the Society's Best New Building of 2020. Elizabeth will be joined by other designers that have also been recognized by the Municipal Art Society for their project's significant contributions to the built environment of New York City.
Galveston Bay Park has been selected as one of three "Visionary" projects for display at the first annual Houston 2020 Visions Exhibition opening August 31, 2020! The Exhibition is a collaboration between the City of Houston and the AIA Houston meant to celebrate "innovative, visionary project proposals that...place design and sustainability at the heart of ...planning a more resilient future." Galveston Bay Park is a collaboration with Walter P Moore and the Rice University SSPEED Center.
The Madison Square Boys & Girls Club Pinkerton Clubhouse in Harlem, New York was honored at the AIA New York Honors and Awards Luncheon. The ceremony was held virtulaly this year on July 7th. The project received a Merit Award in the AIA New York 2020 Design Awards.
The New St. Pete Pier, a 26 acre expansion of the city's public waterfront that is free and accessible to all, will be celebrating its Grand Opening this July 6th! After the previous pier closed its doors to the public 7 years ago, this marks an important moment for the city and its ongoing downtown renaissance.
