Tyler Swanson, along with Alex Warr, was delighted to participate in studio reviews for 3rd year undergraduate students at the Gerald D. Hines College of Architecture at the University of Houston. The studio focused on the design of a new Mediatheque extension for the Contemporary Art Museum (CAMH) in Houston’s Museum District. With a program including a film theater, digital arts studio, library, and café; the students were asked to explore issues of constructability while maintaining an understanding of the role their building might play in the context of other museums as well as an established residential neighborhood.

We are happy to share that the Trust for the National Mall and the National Park Service broke ground on the first phase of Constitution Gardens! The historic Lockkeeper's House, a relic of the capital's old canal system, will be moved further into the park and renovated to house a "visitor information plaza and a digital exhibition that explains National Mall history." This is but the first step in the longer mission of "creating [a] model for sustainable urban parks... in the nations capital" with the wholesale rehabilitation of the park and the addition of a new pavilion.

We are delighted to join the ranks of Architonic's international list of profiled architecture offices and to see the Henderson-Hopkins School be included as a featured project.

We are honored to be included among the 2016 inductees to Walton Family Foundation Northwest Arkansas Design Excellence Program. The Program, as a part of the foundation's larger mission of supporting education, the environment, and the quality of life in Arkansas, financially supports "entities such as school districts; county, state or local municipalities; and nonprofit organizations that intend to develop space for public purposes."

The Uptowner talks about our new 45,000 sf multi-program facility in Upper Harlem, New York. The neighborhood is home to more than 6,000 children under 18, many of whom have no access to such facilities. The four-story clubhouse will feature a rooftop sports arena, technology labs, tutoring spaces, dining area and production studios. Joseph Patuleia, executive director of Madison Square Boys & Girls Club, said, “Our afterschool and summer programs will create a safe space for learning, creativity and overall youth development.”
