Tyler Swanson at BUCKHEAD REdeFINED Workshop

Associate Partner Tyler Swanson participated in a public concept workshop for BUCKHEAD REdeFINED hosted by Livable Buckhead and the Buckhead Community Improvement District. The workshop gave "community members an opportunity to review concepts for improving connectivity and adding public spaces" and ensured that people's "voices are heard."

The Harlem Clubhouse: A Place to Play, Eat and Study

The Uptowner talks about our new 45,000 sf multi-program facility in Upper Harlem, New York. The neighborhood is home to more than 6,000 children under 18, many of whom have no access to such facilities. The four-story clubhouse will feature a rooftop sports arena, technology labs, tutoring spaces, dining area and production studios. Joseph Patuleia, executive director of Madison Square Boys & Girls Club, said, “Our afterschool and summer programs will create a safe space for learning, creativity and overall youth development.”

Buckhead CID Leader Discusses Grand Vision for Park Over GA400

Buckhead CID Executive Director Jim Durrett has become one of Buckhead Park Over GA400's most vocal proponents, given the vision and design concepts that he and other members of the Buckhead Community Improvement District presented Wednesday to the public, together with Rob Rogers and our design partner, Nelson Byrd Woltz. According to Durrett, "People need a place… to be able to gather, to be able to decompress in the outdoors, to be in a peaceful environment, and that’s what this is going to provide."

Buckhead Park Over GA400 Unveiled

The Buckhead Community Improvement District has unveiled the initial concept designs for a proposed world-class public space that would span over GA400 in Buckhead, Atlanta. Conceptualized as an inter-woven and inter-linked public realm with three distinct zones of programming; the commons, the plaza, and the gardens, the park was designed to improve connectivity and the quality of life for residents, workers, and visitors alike. The design, in collaboration with our partner Nelson Byrd Woltz, was presented to the BCID board this morning with a public presentation to follow this afternoon.

Reade Street Talks: Jenny Sabin

We were honored to host Jenny Sabin, Principal of Jenny Sabin Studio, Principal of the Sabin Design Lab at Cornell University, and the Arthur L. and Isabel B. Wiesenberger Assistant Professor and Director of Graduate Studies at the Cornell University College of Architecture, Art, and Planning, on Thursday night. Through lively conversation Jenny discussed her innovative and cross-disciplinary methods which foster new approaches to design, research, and production.

Rob Rogers joined other design leaders at the Sarasota Design Conference 2016 hosted by AIA Florida Gulf Coast. This year's theme: 'Design to the Challenge' was apt for discussions concerning the rigor that must be brought to contemporary design especially when working in the public realm.
