River Park represents a convergence of the water and the park, the park and the city. A blend of hardscape and softscape, its transparent imagery melds with the soft landscape, renewing the Brooklyn waterfront and invigorating community life at the easternmost edge of Brooklyn Bridge Park.
The primary volume of the building is lifted dramatically off the ground, allowing space for park and people to flow around it. The design speaks to the industrial waterfront in muscularity, and to the poetry of the river in its reflective qualities. River Park protects the best attributes of its incredible site and gives DUMBO an elegant, engaged and expressive residence.
